Answers
Pre-Sales Questions
- How much does your web hosting
cost?
We offer 3 payment plans. Our most popular plan is the $99
per year plan. You also have an option of paying $59 every
six months or $12 per month. Moreover, we do not charge
any setup fees.
- What payment options do
you offer? Specifically, do you accept money orders or checks?
For the monthly payment plan ($12 per month), we accept
only credit card payments. For our annual ($99 per year)
and bi-annual ($59 per six months) payment plans, we accept
credit cards, money orders and checks.
If you selected the annual or bi-annual payment plan; and
decided to pay with a money order or a check, please make
it payable to "Zentrifugal, Inc." and send
it to our postal address.
Please include your name, e-mail address and domain name
with any correspondence. Please remember that your account
will not be created till the payment is received and processed.
- How soon will my account
be set up and ready for use?
We setup all accounts within 24 hours of receiving payment
(generally much sooner). You will receive a "Welcome
e-mail" from us that will have all the details that
you need get started. These details include the username,
password; and information about nameservers and FTP instructions.
We recommend that you start uploading your site as soon
as possible after setup is complete, so that, once the nameservers
are properly updated, the site will be immediately available
for use by visitors.

- Can you register a domain
name for me?
We do not register domain names. There are several cost
effective registrars, such as Dotster,
NameBargain
and GoDaddy.
We are not affiliated with any of these registrars.
- Can you set up domains other
than .com, .org, and .net?
Yes, we can set up domains other than .com, .org and .net.
We have several customers with International domains as
well, such as .jp, .de, etc.
- How does the 30 Day Money
Back Guarantee work?
If you are not satisfied with our service within the first
30 days, we will refund your hosting fees. After the 30
days from your initial sign up date, there will be no refund.
- I see some hosts offering
"unlimited bandwidth". Why don't you offer this?
We don't offer "unlimited bandwidth" because bandwidth
costs money. In our experience, the web hosting companies
offering "unlimited bandwidth" are invariably
misleading the consumers. Whenever you visit a site promoting
"Unlimited Bandwidth" as one of the account features,
be sure to visit the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Terms
of Service. Read carefully the fine text about the so-called
"Unlimited" disclaimer you will be surprised!

- Do you host adult sites,
warez sites or sites containing illegal material?
No. Please see our Terms
of Service for policies regarding this.
- What is your policy towards
Spam, Unsolicited Commercial E-mail (UCE), and Bulk Mailing?
We do not tolerate Spam. Your account will be terminated
immediately if you send Spam/UCE. See our Terms
of Service for our zero-tolerance policy on Spam/UCE.

- Is my site backed up and
how often?
Yes, we do daily backups. Our backup policy is simple -
a full backup is done monthly and an incremental backup
is done daily. The full backups are placed onto tapes and
are stored for one month while the incremental backups are
stored onto disk and kept until the next full backup is
performed.

- What are your server specifications?
Our newest servers' hardware is dual Pentium III machines
with 1 GB of RAM and 18 GB SCSI drives. We use Red Hat Linux
running the Apache web server.
- How fast are your connections?
Our servers are located in the Network Access Corporation
(NAC) Network Operations Center (NOC) in New Jersey. The
network is monitored around the clock. NAC offers 15 diverse
OC3 and DS3 connections to multiple backbones.

Technical Questions
- How to transfer from another
host?
First you would get a new account with us - and then transfer
all of your website files. Once that is done, you would
need to update your domain name's DNS/nameservers (with
the company that registered your domain). That's all there
is to it.
Once you've updated your domain name's nameservers, it takes
about 72 hours for your domain name to start working with
your new hosting account. After your domain is completely
pointing to your new hosting account, you could then safely
cancel your account with the old host.

- I changed my control panel password
and now I can't get in.
Passwords are case sensitive and are limited to 8 characters.
If you entered a password longer than 8 characters please
try entering the first 8 characters when logging into your
control panel. If it still doesn't work, contact our support
team.

- What are my POP and SMTP server
settings for e-mail?
Use the following information to retrieve and send e-mail:
Incoming mail (POP3) server: mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.yourdomain.com
You will also need to authenticate yourself with the server
with proper username and password while retrieving and sending
e-mail. Refer to the Knowledge
Base for detailed instructions on how to configure your
e-mail software.

- What are the nameservers that
I should use for my domain?
Use the following details for nameservers:
Primary Nameserver: ns1.zentrifugal.com
Secondary Nameserver: ns2.zentrifugal.com
Some registrars also require that you to provide details
about the IP addresses for your nameservers. If your registrar
has that requirement, we are providing that information
for you. (You can safely ignore these IP addresses, if your
registrar does not require that information.)
IP Address of Primary Nameserver: 66.246.27.68
IP Address of Secondary Nameserver: 66.246.27.69

- I want to get started right away,
but my domain name hasn't yet transferred . How do I do
it?
In the "Welcome E-mail" that we send you when
we set up your account, we provide you will all the details
about how to get started right away -without waiting for
the domain name to get transferred. In a nutshell, as soon
as your account is created by us, you can begin uploading
your entire site to our servers and start accessing the
Control Panel. From the Control Panel, you will be able
to - among other things - create e-mail accounts and MySQL
databases

- What is the path to perl?

- Where should I put CGI scripts
for my domain?
